We are thrilled to announce the launch of our updated Mental Health Act Module LMS # 11716 on LearningHub.
This revamped module is packed with new and enhanced content designed to support learning and practice.
Some of the key updates include:
- Expanding content and clarification of roles and responsibilities of the Director Delegate roles.
- New material to promote culturally safe practices, ensuring care is respectful and inclusive of our indigenous partners when implementing the Mental Health Act.
- Interactive quizzes and tools to test your knowledge, deepen understanding and reinforce learning.
- Content on the Independent Rights Advice Service (IRAS) to clarify roles and responsibilities in advocating for patients' rights.
- Comprehensive guidance on accurately completing the Forms 4.1 and 4.2 in the best interest of the patients.
- A section for understanding where all Mental Health Act Forms need to be submitted.
- Expanded case study to help apply knowledge in a real world, patient-centered scenario.
The module is required learning for all Island Health staff and physicians who actively and regularly support involuntary admissions and psychiatric treatment, with mandatory completion every 2 years. See Island Health's Education Requirements for details.
