June is Men's Health Month in Canada, with June 9 to 15 marking Men's Health Week for 2025. It is a time dedicated to highlighting the importance of preventative health care and early detection of disease, prioritizing mental health and wellness, and encouraging healthy lifestyle habits amongst men.
The Canadian Men's Health Foundation (CMHF) is committed to promoting open, honest conversations about men’s health. Did you know that:
- 1 in 2 Canadian men are at risk of social isolation
- One of the most common types of cancer in young men ages 18 to 35 is testicular cancer
- Early stage prostate cancer usually shows no signs or symptoms
- Compared to women, men:
- have a higher risk of type 2 diabetes
- are twice as likely to suffer a heart attack
- are less likely to seek help for depression
