Staff and medical staff are required to report their influenza immunization status
Reporting is fast and easy:
Thank you to those who have reported their immunization status. As of January 16, 68% of staff have reported their choice to immunize or not – we're getting closer to our target of 90%.
Take a moment to report whether or not you have received your influenza vaccine, as per the provincial Influenza Prevention Policy.
Get immunized
Island Health is seeing a sharp rise in influenza-related hospitalizations and facility outbreaks. The vaccine offers protection against severe illness and helps prevent transmission to vulnerable contacts. It isn’t too late to be immunized. Book your appointment through the Get Vaccinated system.
Reduce transmission
Health-care workers are expected to wear a mask if they have not been vaccinated for influenza. Appropriate personal protective equipment should be determined by a point-of-care risk assessment. Continue to practice hand hygiene and stay home if you’re sick. See the most recent guidance for reducing the transmission of respiratory illnesses.
