I am thrilled to welcome Geoffrey Homer into the new role of Director, Clinical Service Contract Negotiations. Geoff will begin to transition from his current role as Manager, Medical Staff Contracts on December 1, 2022.
Geoff brings to this role direct experience with physician contracting practices, including the integration of complex provisions into service contracts, the mediation of contract issues, and the various provincial agreements that govern these activities. In this new role, Geoff will also bring leadership to the development of a framework to support consistent contract negotiation processes across Island Health. Geoff has previously worked as the Director of Compensation Initiatives, and as the Acting Director of Workforce Analytics in the Ministry of Health, and has well established relationships with our key partners in this work. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Victoria.
Geoff’s keen interest in solving complex problems, his thoughtful leadership style, and collaborative approach to conflict management will enrich the collective skillset of the senior leadership team in Medical Affairs; we are so pleased to have Geoff join this team. Outside of work Geoff is currently enjoying life as a recent, first time parent and tries to find time to hobby-bicycle and refine his home barista skills.
