Geriatric Psychiatrist 100-2100 - Victoria

The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, Island Health, is seeking a part-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide 0.7 FTE of services (roughly 3 and a half days a week) and join 10 others in Victoria. 

The successful candidates will provide geriatric psychiatry consultation to inpatient and outpatient services, including support for the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Team at Victoria General Hospital, outpatient services at the Senior’s Outpatient Clinic (SOPC) at Royal Jubilee Hospital, support for the Esquimalt Westshore Health Unit (EWHU) and consultation at several Long Term Care Facilities.

Geriatric Psychiatrist (200-1431) - Duncan

The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, Island Health, is seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join 2 others in the Cowichan Valley. 

 Patient population is Geriatric, generally over 65 years of age but with psychiatric and/or cognitive challenges and indices of frailty.  Clinical services provided include Consulting status for outpatients, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, direct and indirect care, multidisciplinary team leadership and medico legal expertise as required by the BC Mental Health and Adult Guardianship Acts.

Psychiatrist - CCH (200-1405) - Nanaimo

The Department of Psychiatry in Nanaimo are seeking a part-time General Psychiatrist to provided services with the Complex Care Housing Team. 

The successful candidate will be a member of and work collaboratively with other members of the Complex Care Housing (CCH) team.  Providing psychiatric services for at least 44 weeks per year for, on average, about 7.5 hours per week, or approximately 330 hours per year (equivalent of 0.2 FTEs, based on 1680 minimum hours of services per FTE).  While the number of hours may vary each week, the Psychiatrist will manage their schedule to ensure continuity of psychiatry care for the CCH patients during the year, providing care for the CCH patients during at least 44 weeks of the year.

Psychiatrist 200-1151 - Port Alberni

Island Health is seeking a full-time or part-time Psychiatrist to primarily work in an outpatient setting, caring for an adult population of patients with a wide spectrum of psychiatric and substance use diagnoses.

The candidate must be comfortable in working with the persistently mentally ill, personality disordered, and co-morbid populations, and within the framework of a community and recovery focused program. The successful candidate would provide services at the MHSU outpatient clinic and support ACT/ACSS services in the community. Caseload is shared with the current psychiatrist, and there are currently no on-call responsibilities after-hours or on weekends or holidays. The suitable candidate should be flexible within a growing and changing clinical environment, and comfort with a collaborative and consultative service are imperative.

General Psychiatrist (300-0736) - Campbell Rive and Comox

Island Health’s North Vancouver Island Psychiatrist Services has an opening for a full-time General Psychiatrist. The successful applicant will provide the following services:

A. Location: Campbell River Hospital
Service: Consultation Liaison
Time: Part time (approximately 3-4 hours), 2-4 days per week, Monday-Friday

B. Location: Community of Comox Valley/Campbell River/North Island
Service: Collaborative Care Consultations, MHSU consultations (ASTAT and ACSS), North Island psychiatric outreach
Time: Part Time (approximately  3-4 hours), 4-5 days per week, Monday-Friday
