Island health has an opportunity for a full time Anesthesiologist to join their team at the Comox Valley Hospital.
Comox Valley Hospital is a new 150 bed community hospital with state of the art facilities. There are 6 OR’s with 5 operationalized and 1 reserved for emergency caesarean sections.
Anesthesiologists provide services for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedics. In addition, anesthesiologists provide anesthesia for ECT and Cardioversion and assist with emergency intubations in the ER and ICU. Comox Anesthesiologists also run a consultation clinic and an out of OR position designated as Rover.

The Cowichan District Hospital, a 148-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. Many local FPs continue to maintain full-service practices and provide inpatient care, including Maternity primary care. Local specialist services include Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Radiology; surgical services include General and Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Obstetric sand Gynecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Plastic Surgery. Our busy ER is served by dedicated ERPs.
