The Association of Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC (NNPBC), the professional association representing all four nursing designations (Licensed Practical Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, and Registered Psychiatric Nurse), hosted their annual Nursing Awards of Excellence in December 2023. These awards honour the exceptional individuals who have demonstrated excellence in practice, research, advocacy, administration, education, planetary health, leadership, and lifetime achievement.
Among them is Dr. Lynn Guengerich rom the Island Health extended family:
Dr. Lynn Guengerich, MS, NP(Peds) – Lifetime Achievement
Lynn's nursing career as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) spans 40+ years. She has significantly impacted both the nursing profession as well as the children and families in her care. Lynn is an innovative leader that has helped to shape the education and care models of NPs and raise their profile in the province. Currently Lynn is a contracted NP with Island Health and she is the Director of one of the first NP-led clinics in BC – Health Care on Yates.
