Dr. Mani Bhasin went to medical school in India and completed psychiatry residency and higher specialist training in geriatric psychiatry and adult psychiatry in England, UK. Mani has practiced in both inpatient and community settings in the NHS, UK. She was involved in quality improvement, service development, and medical and psychiatric education. After moving to Vancouver Island, Mani started working with Island Health in 2016. She has worked with the assertive community teams, the Brain Injury program, the Integrated mobile crisis response team, the neuropsychiatry clinic, and the CARES clinic. She has provided clinical leadership, collaborative and shared care with the primary care during her tenure at the CARES clinic. Mani is passionate about a team-based approach to psychiatric care in the community and improving patient and family outcomes. As a medical lead for urgent outpatient, she hopes to work collaboratively with all the services to improve access to psychiatry and enhance the patient experience through timely, compassionate and effective care
