Re: PRIME Enrollment for PharmaNet Access

WHAT IS HAPPENING

As you may know, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has undertaken development of a new system for PharmaNet access. The new system, known as PRIME, ensures access is given only to those who need access to PharmaNet. It protects the user, as no one else can enter transactions under your identity.

All health care providers who use PharmaNet, whether current or new, are required to enroll in PRIME to access PharmaNet. PRIME enrollment will improve the privacy and security of both patient and practitioner information in PharmaNet.

All members of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) will be asked to enroll in PRIME between April 1st, 2023 to August 15th, 2023.

Over the coming months, you can expect emails from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC with information on PRIME and how to enroll.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The CPSBC enrollment period is from April 1st, 2023 to August 15th, 2023.
  • Both new and current PharmaNet users must enroll in PRIME before August 15th to ensure uninterrupted access.
  • Individuals accessing PharmaNet on a College registrant’s behalf must also enroll during the same April 1, 2023 through August 15, 2023 window. This includes registration clerks, unit clerks, and MOAs.
  • You will be prompted during enrollment to provide the Island Health PharmaNet Administrator email. Please use PharmaNetEnrollment@islandhealth.ca to complete this field.
  • If you access PharmaNet through Medinet, you must also include support@medinet.ca in the PharmaNet Administrator email field. Use a comma to separate the two email addresses.

Site Registration:

  • Island Health continues to work through preparation for our site registration. Please do not register any sites at this time. Once this work is completed, we will write to you about the internal process. Thank you for your patience.
