On behalf of: Director, EHR Learning & Governance

We are excited to announce the launch of a new centralized intake process for all electronic health record (EHR) requests. This streamlined approach will simplify and centralize submissions, enhance tracking and strengthen governance to ensure requests are managed efficiently and consistently.

Starting immediately, please submit all EHR-related requests through the Clinical Governance Intake Portal: https://islandhealth.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/21

What does this mean for you?

  • A single, consistent entry point for all EHR requests
  • Improved visibility and communication on request statuses
  • Routing for the appropriate governance

How will requests be managed?

  • Initial triage by EHR Leadership: All new requests will be reviewed to assess technical feasibility and identify any critical fixes.
  • Routing to Clinical Governance: After triage, requests will be forwarded to the appropriate clinical governance group for endorsement and sequencing of requests.
  • Routing to the Electronic Health Record and Health Information Cross Continuum Committee (EHR HI CCC): Once approved by Clinical Governance, requests will be sent to the EHR HI CCC to sequence the technical work, establish timelines, and align with organizational priorities.
  • Informatics collaboration: Informaticists will partner with clinical governance groups to advance approved work.

Thank you for helping us make this transition smooth and efficient. If you have any questions, please reach out to the EHR Governance team at EHRGovernance@islandhealth.ca.
