After many years leading primary and community care on the North Island, Dr. Prean Armogam has stepped down from his medical leader role as Medical Director for Mount Waddington – Strathcona, effective February 2, 2021. On behalf of Island Health, I would like to thank Dr. Armogam for his leadership, advocacy and dedication to his patients and the North Island. Dr. Armogam served as the Mt Waddington Site Chief then interim medical director until taking on the role permanently in 2015. In addition to this work, Dr. Armogam has taught medical students and family practice residents from all over the province and continued the important rural and remote outreach work that is the lifeline to many communities. Dr. Armogam will continue to provide care as a physician in the community. Recruitment to the medical director role will begin shortly.
