The five physicians and one Nurse Practitioner of Vancouver Island's West Coast are looking to recruit a Tofino based primary care NP to join our highly rewarding, multi-clinic group practice.

The Tonquin Medical Clinic and Ucluelet Medical Centre is are well-established clinics (40+ years), with a fully integrated EMR. As we are a single group of physicians, the clinics are well connected to the other clinics on the Coast and Tofino General Hospital. It is part of our new PCN planning for the Coast, with a commitment to the strengthening team-based care. In Summer of 2025, the Ucluelet Medical Centre will move into the brand new Ucluelet Health Centre (currently being built), which will co-locate Island Health services including Mental Health, Public Health, Home & Community Care Nursing, and Rehabilitation services

We are looking for an NP with core values of collaboration, diversity, and cultural safety. We are a very collegial group, and are supported by excellent nursing and ancillary health support (rehab, MSHU, Home & Community Care) from Island Health, Nuu chah nulth (NTC) Health Services, and other community partners. We have very close relationships with our community partners, and a very active and innovate Divisions Chapter (Rural and Remote Division, Long Beach Chapter).

The Ministry provides funding for NP overhead; the current available amount is $75,000 per FTE. 

Community Information

The beautiful West Coast of Vancouver Island includes the towns of Ucluelet and Tofino, and six surrounding First Nations communities. These communities are joined by the Pacific Rim National Park, and incorporate part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The region has a combined population of nearly 8000 residents.
