Public Health Grand Rounds: Seasonal Immunization Update

Medical staff are invited to join Drs. Christina Kay and Mark Cachia, Medical Health Officers, for virtual Grand Rounds on October 29^th, noon until 1:00pm on MS Teams. Agenda items include:

• Describe current activity for influenza, COVID-19, and RSV in Island Health, and review respiratory viruses last season in B.C.
• Explain how to access and manage vaccines and document immunization.
• Review respiratory illness vaccines for the 2025/26 season.
• Highlight provincial immunization guidelines for influenza, COVID-19, RSV and pneumococcal vaccines.
• Outline the current public health approach for managing respiratory illness.
• If time allows during the Q&A, answer questions about other immunizations and communicable disease control (e.g., HPV, mpox, measles).
