Welcome Dr. Susan Finch, new Medical Lead, Cross Campus MHSU Acute & Community, Geo 1.
Effective October 1st, 2020 Dr. Finch assumed the Medical Lead, Cross Campus MHSU Acute & Community role.
Dr. Susan Finch completed medical school at McGill University and her residency at the University of British Columbia and holds certification in addiction medicine. Susan previously worked in Kingston Ontario for seventeen years at Queen’s University before returning the Vancouver Island to work at Island Health in 2018.
Dr. Finch’s main areas of interest include addiction psychiatry, emergency psychiatry and PTSD and trauma.
As a medical leader, Dr. Finch has been involved in developing comprehensive intensive urgent mental health and psychiatric services and developing a regional mental health system model aimed at delivering the right care at the right time in the right place for each individual. This model focusses on accessibility of a full spectrum of mental health and psychiatric services across the region regardless of where someone lives.
