Dr. Caroline Ferris has assumed the Medical Lead, MHSU Addiction Medicine Geo 4.
Dr. Ferris graduated medical school form the University of British Columbia in 1986 .Dr. Ferris chose Addiction Medicine due to long-standing interest in Public Health and emergence of Opioid Overdose as a Public Health crisis.
The most meaningful aspect of practicing medicine for Dr. Ferris is the privilege of learning from patients, and the opportunity to improve the system to better serve them.
Dr. Ferris has strong interests in Primary Care, Mental Health, Public Health and teaching. Some of her noteworthy accomplishments include having been Site Faculty for Family Practice Residency Program, and successfully writing the ISAM exam.
When asked about her hopes for the future of healthcare Dr. Ferris noted her hopes are for a focus on nutrition and resilience-building becoming more prevalent, as measures for improving physical and mental health.
When not practicing medicine you will find Dr. Ferris’ hobbies include music and dance.
