Dr. Maitreya is an internationally trained orthopedic surgeon who practiced as independent consultant in orthopedic surgery in India. He will be joining Victoria General Hospital in the operating room and with the surgical 5AB team.
His education and professional certifications include Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (2013) and Diploma in Orthopedic Surgery (2017) from India. In addition to clinical orthopedic work, Dr. Maitreya’s long list of academic accomplishments includes teaching, research and several publications and presentations. Most recently he worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
Aside from an impressive medical history, Dr. Maitreya has volunteered in a wide variety of health-related initiatives. He also participates in various extracurricular activities, receiving championships and awards in both sports and artistic endeavours such as dancing and singing!
