Updated on: May 10, 2022

TO: All Royal Jubilee staff, medical staff, students, and volunteers

FROM: Melanie Cyr, Interim Site Director, Royal Jubilee Hospital and Dr. Brian Mc Ardle, Medical Director, Royal Jubilee Hospital

Good afternoon,

The outbreak declared April 22, 2022 affecting 4 SW at Royal Jubilee Hospital has been declared over. Our established protocols have helped mitigate risks to staff and patients and will continue.

Thank you for all your hard work in responding to this challenge and implementing increased precautions.

Although the outbreak has been declared over, everyone should continue to monitor themselves for symptoms, and follow BCCDC guidance on when to isolate and seek testing. If needed, use the Symptomatic Island Health Staff COVID-19 Testing Line to be prioritized for testing: 1.833.737.9377.

Practice continued vigilance for all staff on site around masking, hand hygiene, physical distancing, and PPE is critical. Particular focus should be placed on shared spaces (i.e. charting areas and break spaces).

Staff and physicians are essential and can continue coming to work unless showing symptoms of COVID or advised otherwise by Public Health.

Thank you for your continued efforts to provide care to the patients at RJH.
