The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia is the licensing authority for both family and specialist physicians in BC. Detailed licensing information can be found on the College's website.

International Medical Graduates (IMGs)
We welcome IMGs who lack Canadian qualifications and legal status in Canada (permanent resident or Canadian Citizenship) to contact us directly. Our team will support the required processes leading to provisional licensure and a work permit, and assist you in your successful relocation to Vancouver Island.
The BC Physician Integration Program provides IMGs* with a comprehensive orientation and introduction to the BC health care system. The program is comprised of a two-day orientation conference held in Vancouver. Participation is mandatory for all IMGs who hold provisional licensure.
*IMGs must be on the registry with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
