Accreditation Information

Medical Staff Engagement & Development encourages the provision of events accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The Accreditation of CME Events primer provides an overview of the processes by which accreditation of events occurs and how physicians can claims credits for their CPD activities.

Accreditation for CME/CPD events may only be obtained through an accredited CPD provider such as a professional society or university.  Please note that health authorities do not have this designation. 

A physician or designate may apply to accredit a CME/CPD activity through the following providers

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada - for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits

College of Family Physicians of Canada - for Mainpro+ credits

UBC Division of CPD - for both MOC and Mainpro+ credits
