Island Health is very pleased and excited to share that the contract between the South Island Hospitalists and Island Health is complete after two years of hard work! On July 1, the contract was unanimously supported and signed by administration and all South Island Hospitalists.
The new contract is based on the Vested Methodology which focuses on a new way of partnering together, and puts a priority on the relationship and improving outcomes, rather than conventional transaction based contracting. Using this methodology is a first for Island Health and a first in the province and Canada for use with a physician contract.
What Is Vested?
Vested® is a business model, methodology, mindset and movement for creating highly collaborative business relationships that enable true win-win relationships in which both parties are equally committed to each other’s success.
When applied, this relationship based approach fosters an environment that sparks innovation, resulting in improved service, reduced costs and value that didn’t exist before — for both parties.
Vested is based on award-winning research conducted by the University of Tennessee College of Business Administration and funded by the U.S. Air Force.
This new way of collaboratively working is a win-win for Island Health, the Hospitalists, and our patients. Please join us in commending the hospitalists and administration for having the courage and commitment to work differently together and in a new way.
