New Cardiac Rehabilitation Cardiologist at RJH

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Olivier Desplantie to the Cardiology team at Royal Jubilee Hospital. Starting October 15, 2018, Dr. Desplantie will join the Division of Cardiology and Island Health as a Heart Failure and Cardiac Rehabilitation Cardiologist.

Dr. Olivier Desplantie is originally from Montréal, Québec. He earned his medical degree at McGill University before pursuing an internal medicine residency at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and a Cardiology Fellowship at the Montreal Heart Institute. A passionate promoter of secondary prevention in heart disease, Dr. Desplantie completed a combined fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure/Cardiac Transplantation and Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention at St-Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. He is thrilled to be working with so many fine physicians at RJH and the Cardiology Department.

A recent transplant to Victoria, Dr. Desplantie enjoys the warm feeling of this vibrant city and is looking forward to giving back to the community. When he is not at work, you can find him zooming around on his bicycle, throwing around a volley ball or enjoying an espresso at one of Victoria’s many fine coffee shops.
