Medical leaders gathered in Victoria in October for the recent Navigating Island Health Medical Leadership workshop. The purpose of the accredited workshop is to help medical leaders gain a deeper knowledge of the health system and practice health leadership administrative skills.
Medical staff learned about the medical staff leadership structure and function, decision-making process, quality improvement and assurance, the health system, how to promote a positive culture and how to respond to professionalism issues.
Dr. Dennis Desai from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) also delivered a presentation on clinical documentation in electronic era video conferenced across the island
