Medical Staff Leaders Gather For “Wellness Today for a Better Tomorrow”

Over 70 medical leaders from across Vancouver Island gathered in Victoria last week for the Wellness Today for a Better Tomorrow workshop. This was the latest in a series of workshops designed to support medical leaders’ skill development in their non-clinical positions and improve the experience and wellbeing of Island Health medical leaders.

This accredited  workshop was developed with medical staff and in partnership with Medical Staff Associations to learn about the costs of burnout and strategies to foster healthier mind sets and promote wellness.  Attendees heard from guest speakers and colleagues about their experiences and took time to practice and discuss wellness.  After attending this workshop, attendees committed to practicing more gratitude, incorporate daily mindfulness, and connect with colleagues to better understand how they can help others.
