Medical Staff Engagement and Development Team is growing

Island Health’s Medical Staff Engagement and Development team welcomed two new team members this month. Sara Campbell, based in Nanaimo, is the new Project Lead and Tara Martinez, based in Victoria, is the new Program Assistant.

Sara Campbell and Tara MartinezSara has worked in Island Health for 10 years in a variety of roles and teams including Medical Affairs Compensation, Governance and Recruitment. In her new role she will lead various Medical Staff Engagement & Development projects.

Tara comes to Island Health with experience supporting event coordination, marketing and communications in both the private and public sector, as well as facilitating the development and implementation of conferences, workshops, employee appreciation events and virtual events.

With these two new team members the Medical Staff Engagement and Development teams looks forward to focusing on their goal of supporting medical staff by:

1. Enhancing medical staff communications, collaboration and relationships among medical staff, Island Health and external partners.

2. Supporting medical staff engagement in personal and team development activities including Continuing Professional Development and leadership orientation & development.

3.Enhancing the culture of recognizing medical staff members with significant years on medical staff and those who have made significant contributions to improving healthcare delivery.

These goals are advanced through Medical and Academic Affair's strong partnerships with Island Health portfolios: Communications, Planning and Partnerships, Experience, People and Organizational Development, Quality, Safety and Improvement, and external partners: Doctors of BC and the Joint Collaborative Committees.
