Medical leaders and their administrative partners join forces to enhance leadership skills

Close to 100 medical leaders and their co-leads gathered in Victoria last week at a sold-out event to enhance their collaborative relationships. This was the latest medical leadership development workshop hosted by Medical Staff Engagement and Development.

Leading in a Co-Leadership Model is designed to help leaders gain clarity about their signature leadership strengths, and how to combine these with another leader to establish an effective collaborative relationship. This accredited workshop helped leaders explore leadership and conflict management styles and develop strategies to build effective working partnerships.

Medical leaders and their administrative partners appreciated the ability to network, spend time building their relationships and engage in group discussion. Participant’s evaluation comments included:

  • “very engaging, interactive, stimulating”
  • “I appreciated the mix of presentation and small group discussion”
  • “it’s fun to talk about personality types”
  • “excellent facilitation and learning materials”

Check the Medical Staff website for details and registration information on future professional development events including the Leadership and Performance Growth workshop being held in Parksville May 9 and Victoria May 30.
