Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) and the South Island Division of Family Practice (SIDFP), working together as part of the Primary Care Networks (PCNs), are seeking progressive physicians who are interested in working in a primary care model that provides comprehensive, coordinated and integrated team-based care in the region known as Westshore on Vancouver Island.
This is an opportunity to join a vibrant clinic and help influence an emerging local team-based care practice, supported by physician colleagues, nurse practitioners and registered nurses, with access to mental health and substance use clinicians. It is anticipated that in-home patient care may be a future requisite part of this position.
The successful candidate will join Island Health’s newly renovated St. Anthony’s Clinic located in Langford. The clinic features two primary care clinics with 6 exam/treatment rooms in each and a collaborative centre for the interdisciplinary team. Recruitment is initially targeted to family practitioners who do not currently have a patient panel in the geography.
St. Anthony’s operates 7 days per week and the successful physician will collaborate with the team on the practice schedule arrangement. The position is remunerated by a clinic service contract, and requires the GP work a minimum 1680 hours and 220 days per year (pro-rated for part time positions), providing for great flexibility in establishing your work/life balance.
