The Ladysmith Community Health Centre has an opportunity to work within a primary care family practice clinic and a team based, innovative and collaborative environment with NP’s and RN’s.  The physician provides the full scope of primary care services with an emphasis on chronic disease management, wellness and episodic care (no obstetrics). Physicians are also the MRP for approximately 10 residents in the adjacent complex care facility. The clinic is in a primary care centre which provides access and integration with multidisciplinary teams including Mental Health (all ages), Home & Community Care, Rehabilitation, Diagnostics and Child Youth & Family programs.

Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

Recruitment Incentive - $10,000 (Full-time)

Fee Premium - 4.2%

Annual Flat Fee - $4,222.80

CME of $2,200 annually in years 3 & 4, to a maximum of $4,400 (after 4 years in the community)

Located on the beautiful east coast of Vancouver Island the Town of Ladysmith with a population of 8,000± residents offers a full spectrum of educational facilities from pre-school to senior secondary.  Founded at the turn of the century the town still enjoys a small town family-oriented atmosphere while providing easy access to the larger centres of Nanaimo, Victoria and Vancouver.

With its temperate climate, the opportunities for recreational activities abound - from sailing, kayaking, and diving to golf and hiking the extensive network of area trails.

Education, Training and Experience

- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)

- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

- Urgent/Emergency Care experience an asset
