Anchor Family Medicine is a collegial group of 8 physicians that strongly believes in the importance of longitudinal, patient-centered, relationship-based care in order to provide the best health outcomes. The physical layout of our clinic was designed to allow maximal interaction amongst physicians in order to provide support. We have a number of physicians with special skills including Obstetrics, Palliative  Care, Behavioral medicine and Musculoskeletal  disorders. We also have a good blend of older  experienced physicians and newer to practice physicians. We have all been preceptors for the UBC Family Medicine residency program - Nanaimo site since 2007, and a number of us have also held site faculty or director roles in the program.

Hospital privileges, long term care, doctor of the day program, and maternity care are available.

Overhead:  30%, out of office billings charged 5%

Nanaimo is an exciting city on beautiful Vancouver Island which boasts both extensive waterfront and easy access to nearby mountains. The community provides an opportunity to enjoy an active lifestyle with a multitude of year-round recreational opportunities including golf, mountain biking and walking trails, camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, and diving.  In winter, both downhill and cross-country skiing can be enjoyed at Mount Washington, just 1.5 hours north.  This vibrant, growing city of approximately 100,000 boasts its own symphony and theater, offers post-secondary education at the Vancouver Island University, is a short drive to Victoria, and has easy access to Vancouver via either ferry or seaplane.
