This position is to join the current team of 4 GP oncologists that are overseeing chemotherapy for cancer patients at the Cowichan District Hospital.  The main role of this position is managing patients on active cancer treatment.  There is also a portion of the practice that involves symptom management and palliative care for patients with cancer.  The position is one full day per week with possible opportunity to add a second day in the future.  No oncology experience is required.  Training through the Family Practice Oncology Network is available.

Potential Island Health Recruitment Incentive - $10,000 - pro-rated based on FTE; Fee Premium – 4.2%; Annual Flat Fee – $4,834.80; Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum in years 3 and 4 in the community, increasing to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years.
