The division of General Internal Medicine for Victoria is pleased to announce they are looking for two new internal medicine specialists to join their group.
The successful applicants will participate in inpatient care as a member of the city-wide General Internal Medicine on-call schedule, including the Victoria General Hospital and Royal Jubilee Internal Medicine Services as well as the Royal Jubilee Clinical Teaching Unit and Royal Jubilee Cardiology program.
The successful applicants will also become part of our outpatient General Internal Medicine program, which provides consultative care through the Urgent Medical Assessment Clinic. The applicant will be expected to participate equally in clinical initiatives of the division such as Quality Assurance and the use of the OSCAR EMR system for clinic records and billing.
The successful applicants must be trained for at least 4 years in internal medicine through a recognized fellowship program, or be eligible for RCPSC examination in General Internal Medicine subspecialty exams. Candidates who have completed 3 years of Core Internal Medicine, plus fellowship training in an alternative subspecialty do not meet this requirement and will not be considered.
This position includes a substantial teaching role, both inpatient and outpatient, through the Island Medical Program and UBC. Trainees are of all levels from Medical Student to senior fellows. General Internists are expected to become and remain members of the University Faculty in good standing. All division members are expected to contribute to CME and Medical Rounds.
