Community Information

Port Alberni, situated at the end of Vancouver Island's longest inlet, is one of the most affordable waterfront centres on the island. Blessed with a moderate climate, the City of Port Alberni enjoys some of the best sport salmon fishing on the coast.

In addition to the natural beauty of the area, the temperate valley offers an array of year-round outdoor and ecotourism activities.

The city is considered the gateway to Ucluelet and Tofino on the west coast and is within commuting distance to the larger urban centres of Nanaimo to the east and Victoria to the south. Ferry and float plane service to Vancouver from these locations is readily available.
