The Victoria Youth Clinic Society, the operating and lead agency for Foundry Victoria is seeking a 0.5 FTE Nurse Practitioner.  Foundry Victoria is an integrated youth and young adult service delivery model comprising primary health, mental health, substance use, social services and peer support.

In accordance with a patient, client and family centered model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values and strategic directions of the Victoria Youth Clinic Society and Foundry this position promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, families, visitors and staff. 

Foundry Victoria comprises an integrative and collaborative approach to care with community partnerships including but not limited to the Victoria Youth Clinic Society, Island Health, and the Ministry of Children and Family Development providing Mental Health, Substance Use, Primary Care, Peer Support and Social Services.

Services at the clinic include leading and/or supporting the following activities:

  • Primary care
  • Sexual Health
  • Mental Health
  • Substance use
  • Outreach
  • Harm reduction
  • Gender affirming care

The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively to provide primary care, including same day appointments, for patients attached to the Foundry primary care clinic. The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide ongoing care management to patients, with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders, commensurate with the professional services provided by a full scope Nurse Practitioner.

Qualifications
  • Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nursing Professionals as a practicing NP registrant; successful completion of the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) and two (2) years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience. 
  • Completion of Opioid Agonist Treatment program established by BC Centre of Substance Use (BCCSU).
  • Special consideration given for experience working with marginalized, at-risk youth. 
Education, Experience & Qualifications
  • Full licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
