Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Surgical Services is seeking a glaucoma fellowship trained ophthalmologist to join the Division of Ophthalmology in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
This is a community based private practice position.
Eligible applicants must:
- hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Ophthalmology;
- have completed ophthalmology residency (Canadian training preferred);
- have a minimum 1 year of glaucoma surgery post graduate fellowship at a recognized program;
- training completed by July 2021 in a recognized fellowship program;
- and, be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.
Through the Eye Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital the successful candidate would have access to a fluorescein angiography unit, ophthalmic ultrasound, diode, argon, and YAG/SLT lasers and a fully equipped treatment room for minor surgical procedures. The successful candidate will also have dedicated surgical time in surgical daycare for glaucoma, cataract and other eye surgery.
Full participation on the on call schedule (1 in 12), and the Island Medical Program (UBC) is an expectation of this position.
