We are inviting all clinicians and leaders to build confidence and skills in disclosure by signing up for the Communicating Unexpected Outcomes (CUO) course.

This online course (via Zoom, 4-hours total) is designed to improve communication skills and increase transparency of conversations with patients/families after unexpected clinical outcomes occur, including those outcomes resulting from errors in care. These conversations can be challenging and are important for building and maintaining trust with patients/families.

This activity is an Accredited Simulation Activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD. You may claim a maximum of 4.0 hours (credits are automatically calculated). This activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by UBC CPD for up to 4.0 Mainpro+® Certified Activity credits. A certificate of completion will be issued to learners once the course has concluded so credits can be claimed.

The course is taught in two 2 hour sessions (for a total of 4 hours). We currently have seats available in a rapidly approaching April session.

Cohort A April 16 and April 23 10AM - 12PM Virtual
