The Victoria Hospitals Foundation is proud to share the recent CHEK News Inspiring Island Women segment featuring Dr. Lynn Fedoruk, Chief and Medical Lead of Cardiac
Surgery. Dr. Fedoruk is the only female cardiac surgeon in British Columbia, and one of just fifteen across Canada. Throughout her career, she has championed innovative minimally-invasive procedures, continuously pushing for further cardiac excellence on our Island.
In this segment, Dr. Fedoruk highlights a new mitral valve technique that was funded by Victoria Hospitals Foundation donors, and demonstrates the powerful impact of minimally-invasive surgery for our community. She is joined by Dr. John Ofiesh and Victoria Hospital Foundation CEO Avery Brohman for an engaging conversation on collaboration, leadership, and progress in care on Vancouver Island.
