I am delighted to announce Dr Laura Fraser as the new Chief of Staff for Royal Jubilee Hospital, effective March 1st 2026.

Dr Fraser is a General Internal Medicine Specialist who has been working here in Victoria since 2018. In addition to providing excellent patient care, she has demonstrated a strong interest in medical leadership from an early stage in her career. She has served at the lead for Internal Medicine at the Jubilee Hospital since 2021 and as the medical director of our Clinical Teaching Unit since 2022. During that time she has been instrumental to the growth of the local internal medicine group and our local IM residency program.

She has also spearheaded multiple quality improvement initiatives at RJH, including the development of an acute thrombosis clinic and optimization of the internal medicine urgent referral clinics. She has closely collaborated with multiple physician groups locally and local leaders in clinical operations to address challenges with patient flow and site capacity. More recently she has worked closely with the South Island Hospitalist division to address physician capacity issues.

In addition to a high level of operational knowledge, Laura brings great enthusiasm and compassion to the role and providing excellent patient care is at the forefront of everything she does. She also has a very clear understanding of the challenges our site is facing and she is solution focused. I am very much looking forward to working with her and supporting her to be successful in this important role.

We are very fortunate to have strong local leaders such as Dr Fraser and,  I invite all of you to congratulate her as she begins her journey as Chief of Staff!

Dr. Brian McArdle | Executive Director Royal Jubilee Hospital (RJH), Strategy Lead (Critical Care, Cardiac Services, Surgery, Medicine/Ambulatory).
