How will this work be governed?
The Medical Leadership project will be governed by three committees: the executive, project operations and advisory committees, who have distinct roles and authority.
- The Executive Committee provides sponsorship, executive oversight and approval of key milestones and principles.
- The Operations Committee oversees the project, including task-specific workstreams, to ensure deliverables and priorities are met. The Operations Committee is accountable to the Executive Committee and engages the Advisory Committee for influential feedback.
- The Advisory Committee supports the project at a Collaborative level on the IAP2 spectrum of participation1. As a collaborator, their role will be to review and provide feedback and recommendations on the work of the Operations team.
Medical Leadership Advisory Committee
The Medical Leadership Advisory Committee was formed based on diversity criteria, including geographic representation, time in leadership, and medical leader type and it includes two MSA Executives.
This Advisory Group is a focused, time-limited working group that will collaborate with the project team to develop the future state of medical leadership at Island Health.
Scope or Work:
Members will participate in a series of four 1-hour interactive design labs, with the goal of creating recommendations on specific topics related to medical leadership. These recommendations will inform decision-making at an Executive Steering Committee.

Compensation:
HSR Funding: Sessional rate for medical leaders who are not full-time, and this work is not within their portfolio.
