Chaundra Willms has been a nurse practitioner for 16 years. She graduated from UVic in 2007 and began to practice in Port Hardy in a new NP role in mental health and addictions. She then worked in the Port Hardy Primary Care Clinic in family practice focusing on Indigenous populations, mental health, and women’s health. In 2017 she moved to Nanaimo and took on the role of NP Clinical Lead at Island Health. She is also the Department Head for the Division of Nurse Practitioners under the medical staff structure at Island Health. She is working on her Doctor of Nursing Practice through Grand Canyon University. She has experience teaching NP students and was a BCCNM Quality Assurance program chart reviewer for 5 years. She lives in Nanaimo and enjoys gardening and walking her Great Dane Juju.
