We heard you! You told us you wanted more “signed-in” time on OneSign® “Tap N Go”, and we’ve delivered. Now, instead of asking staff to sign in again after 4 hours and 20 minutes of using the Tap N Go function, the maximum time has expanded to eight hours.
OneSign Tap N Go hardware and software can be found on medical and clinical desktops and WoWs at 10 Island Health sites. It is a popular enhancement for medical and clinical staff who often travel between multiple computers throughout their work day.
At right: Meagan Hicks "taps in" at a workstation on wheels at Chemainus Health Care Centre.
Instead of having to sign on manually every time they switch computers – taking time and perhaps bumping off the previous user – people can simply tap in and tap out as they move around using their proximity (prox) cards, after signing in at the beginning of a shift.
“We love how it improves our work productivity,” says Vicky, an RN at Royal Jubilee Hospital’s Patient Care Centre. “It makes logging into computers obviously faster. And switching between different computers is a lot easier, especially when we have many nurses trying to access the same computers. It makes stealing computers guilt-free!”
With the sign-in time expanded to eight hours, a good thing just got better.
“We’re pleased that OneSign Tap N Go has been popular with a large number of medical and clinical staff,” says Daryl Dry, Manager, Device Integration & Innovation, IM/IT. “Since it improves usability to expand the signed-in time for our users, it’s a request we are happy to fulfill.”
