Let's continue to walk our PRIDE with team commitment and actions!
Did you have a team conversation on “Walk our Pride"? If not, then please do so and share your team's Pride commitment and the actions you will take beyond the month of June. Select one or two commitments and share with pride@islandhealth.ca. Congratulations to the individuals and teams that have taken steps during Pride month!
“As the world evolves in its acceptance and understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity, so too must Island Health. We are committed to a culture of safety – where there is equitable treatment of all staff, medical staff, patients, residents and clients and where the words and pronouns we use are safe and inclusive and the services we offer are respectful. It is our responsibility to ensure that we have work environments and services that are free from discrimination, stigma and bias. We have work to do, but I am confident we will get there together" – Kathy McNeil, President and CEO
Collective responsibility and intentional actions within various teams, departments and portfolios are needed to promote equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace, health care system and communities we serve. We must continue to Walk our PRIDE together at Island Health!
