We are pleased to welcome Dr. Gregory dePape as the new Medical Director, Port Alberni West Coast.
Getting to know Dr. dePape.
- Where did you complete medical school and residency?
I am originally from Ucluelet on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. A descendant of generations of loggers, curiosity got the best of me and I ended up stumbling off the sidehills and wandering the campuses of UVIC, UBC and Dalhousie universities. After years of cerebral saturation I returned close to my coastal roots in Port Alberni where I hope to remain as "protected old growth.”
- What is most meaningful to you about practicing medicine?
Family and friends are my life supports (oh and I should not forget my amazing MOA...). They keep me in check on a daily basis and I am constantly reminded that my daily complaints are usually without warrant!
- What hobbies or activities do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Hobbies remain, aviation (especially coastal amphib flying), the great outdoors and fitness (a soon to be retired right winger on the mighty Pylons hockey team).
