We are pleased to welcome Dr. Sabrina Gustafson-Vickers as the new Medical Lead, Palliative Care & End of Life, Geo 4.
Dr. Gustafson-Vickers attended UBC medical school in Vancouver and completed her Family Medicine residency in Surrey/South Fraser including a year of added competence in Palliative Care in Victoria.
When asked why she chose palliative care Dr. Gustafson-Vickers explained that her choice was made when she observed her mentors caring for the whole person, attending to their medical and non-medical needs, and having impactful conversations at a deeply personal time in patients' lives.
Dr. Gustafson-Vickers feels the most meaningful thing to her in the practice of medicine is the privilege of walking with patients through the course of illness, and to support them in achieving their hopes.
When Dr. Gustafson-Vickers is not practicing medicine you will find her chasing after her two young children and in her spare time hiking and doing anything that involves being in nature.
