The Namgis First Nation is looking for a physician to join the Namgis Health team. The physician will work in clinic with 2 physicians and other health team members; including 2 community care nurses, 2 mental health workers, addictions counselors and a social worker. There are also visiting occupational therapists, social work, mental health, intensive case managers and a midwife. Additionally, visiting specialists include Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology and Psychiatry. The position requires ER coverage, inpatient hospital care and long-term patient care. Both the clinic and hospital are located on the Namgis First Nations reserve. The position is salaried and housing can be provided.
The Namgis are a forward thinking people who are deeply invested in the health care of their community and, by extension, the health care of Alert Bay and surrounding peoples.
Benefits
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
- Recruitment Incentive: $20,000
- Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to a maximum of $15,000
- Fee Premium: 23.94%
- Annual Flat Fee: $27,558.36
- Rural CME: starting at $1,320/annum for 2 years or less in community, increasing to a maximum of $5,720 after 4 years.
Rural GP Locum Program provides $900/day to locum physician with 43 days/annum locum coverage to resident physician.
