May 2023 Survey and date change for Fall 2023 (Sequence 3) Survey!
As a health and care organization, we are constantly on a quality improvement journey. Thank you to everyone for embracing Accreditation as part of your commitment to quality improvement and in support of the work you do every day to provide excellent health and care for everyone, everywhere, every time. Upcoming Accreditation Canada Visit (Sequence 2) – May 3rd – May 5th 2023
Next week, healthcare leaders from across the country, who serve as surveyors on behalf of Accreditation Canada will be touring Island Health sites within the Population and Public Health Portfolio. These surveyors will spend time interacting with Island Health staff, physicians, leaders, clients, and community partners to gain a better understanding of our systems of care and service delivery. The standards being assessed are:
- Population Health & Wellness (system standard)
- Public Health Services
- Community Health Services
It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the great work happening here every day and receive feedback on what we see as our strengths, gaps and improvement planning needs. Island Health is lucky enough to welcome back two of the surveyors we hosted in our Sequence 1 Fall 2022 visit, Jeanette Edwards and Dalyce Cruikshank.

Accreditation Canada Visit (Sequence 3) Date Change
The dates for our final visit (Sequence 3) have been changed from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024. Please see our updated sequential survey schedule for more information on which standards are being surveyed in 2024.
The Accreditation Team will begin reaching out to Teams to provide support and learning opportunities regarding Accreditation and this survey shortly! Please contact as at accreditation@islandhealth.ca if you have any questions in the meantime!
