The UPCC offers flexible hours with team-based care, low commitment and attractive remuneration:
Payment details:
Group clinical service contract with competitive rates:
- Payment will now be at contract base rate of $198.48 per hour
- Additional $25 per hour will be applied to direct patient care hours for evenings (18:00 and later) and weekends/holidays
- Additional incentives may be available. Ask for more details!
- No overhead will be removed from these payments
Shift details:
- Shifts are usually 3-4 hours (or longer shift if that time is available)
- Shifts are available during the following clinic hours: 08:00-21:00 M-F, 09:00-18:00 Weekends/Holidays
Shift expectations:
- Expectation is to see a minimum of 3 patients per hour
- Patients may sometimes need to be seen urgently depending on the clinical scenario
- Some indirect patient care time is required to review investigations previously ordered at the UPCC (likely 30 – 60 minutes per shift)
- Workflow is between two exam rooms with access to a nursing station with four procedure rooms (for minor procedures)
- Nursing staff are available for ear syringing, dressing changes, immunizations, and other primary care needs with expanding RN scope on the horizon
- Timely access to on-site Pharmacist, Social Work and MHSU clinicians to facilitate team-based care.
The Medical Arts Centre is located in the heart of downtown Nanaimo by the waterfront. The clinic is supported by excellent long-term staff including NPs, RNs, MHSU clinicians, social workers, and a pharmacist available to assist with complex patient care.
Medical Arts enjoys state of the art electronic medical records (Intrahealth) and is complimented with Accell EMR.
We are an active teaching site for the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program.
