Members of our Indigenous Health & Diversity, Equity and Inclusion & Recruitment team had the opportunity to join the BCNU table during the National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations at Royal Roads University on Lekwungen and Xwsepsum Lands.

Pictured here from left: Talent Acquisition Recruiter, Morgan Copeland, and Indigenous EmplRoyal Roads event.jpgoyment Advisor, Gabriel Jacobsen showcasing the BCNU booth and Island Health career opportunities.

Through this great celebration the teams had the pleasure of making new connections, recruiting Indigenous individuals who are interested in careers at Island Health and engaged with youth who are looking forward to a future in health care.

There were a lot of meaningful conversations about the needs for health care workers in British Columbia. The teams also got to take part in the amazing festivities such as; live drumming, guest speakers, canoe races and much more.

Thank you to Monique Pat, Indigenous Liaison Nurse at VGH for inviting us to share a table!
