Elizabeth Gronsdahl is Retiring June 30th

Posted on: June 15, 2022

It is with mixed emotion that we celebrate the retirement of Elizabeth Gronsdahl on June 30th.  Liz has been a valuable member of the Medical and Academic Affairs portfolio since 2011,ElizabethG_0 r.jpg and has provided progressive leadership to some of the portfolio's most challenging matters.

Before joining Island Health, she spent nearly 2 decades in the Ministry of Health working with the health authorities and then in physician contracts and compensation. We were fortunate to have Liz bring her knowledge and skills to Island Health as we developed our own medical staff contracting and compensation program.

In her most recent position as Manager, Strategic Initiatives, Liz played an integral role in establishing Island Health's first regional Medical On-Call Availability Program (MOCAP) Review Committee – engaging a diverse group of physicians and corporate leaders in a new decision-making committee with all the associated processes,  no easy feat.

Liz, we cannot thank you enough for all the contributions you have made to Medical Affairs at Island Health and we wish for you a wonderful retirement full of well-deserved rest and much adventure.  Liz will ease into retirement by enjoying some time with family and friends over the summer months before heading to Spain in September.

Bon voyage, Liz, and please stay in touch.
